What Changed My Life (And I Wish I’d Discovered Sooner)

A big part of my personal Thrive journey has been establishing an almost daily exercise habit.

“Almost daily” not because I feel I “have to” or “should” but because, after hating and mostly avoiding exercise most of my life, once I started doing it to feel good – not to lose weight or make up for some food sin, which was my typical reason for exercising – I found that I so enjoyed that feeling and even the process of moving my body that I didn’t want to lose that good feeling.

Like other changes I’ve made in my life that have become, over time, real transformations, this one happened in the same way: Step by step. Figuratively and literally.

It’s difficult to convey just how much exercising to thrive has enriched my life. It’s something that I never could have fathomed. After all, I was 35 when I began to exercise, not exactly old, and I was in good health. I had no idea just how much better I could feel or how transformative exercise – cardio and strength training – could be, not just to my body and fitness but to my life.
